Startled

I looked up
I saw the world
It startled me
I dove for the duvet
Never to look again.

Tremors

A shuddering starts within the heart.
Tremble not you shout in silence
But inward contemplation fails.

There is an Alien awaiting freedom inside.
It pushes at the boundaries of your chest.
It gnaws at the intestines in the pit.

One day if will escape, you think your free.
But as it goes it rips out your heart.
There it will lay for all to see.

Life

Life, it's thrust upon you,
Never did you ask for it
You are thrown out into light and sound
To fend for yourself in alien ground.

Short is the comfort of the mothers arms
Long will the torture of the glaring crowd
Never to know the silent peace of the womb again.
The warmth has been substituted for the cold.

In life you struggle more and more
For selfish whores abound galore
The privileged few you want to gore
Till the comfort of deaths inevitable sleep

Future Social

I wonder if the future Social Media incarnations will be as popular as Facebook and Twitter?

There is this futuristic vision of people 'jacking in' to their systems and becoming part of a virtual reality world, but somehow even though that would be an advantage in some things, a replacement for actual social media?

I personally think VR would be great for Gaming and Education, taking online Gaming to a new level, Education to a more level plane with more interactivity.

Social media on the other hand is more to do with communication than visuality, if you were to enter a VR version of Twitter of Facebook I believe it wouldn't be as spontaneous or as good an experience as they are now. After all, if you want to virtually meet people visually, there's a better place to do it even now in the present, out THERE.

Facebook and Twitter as they stand at present spawn friendships that span continents, and an eventual meet up (TWEETUP) is a spectacular thing, the effort alone of physically meeting people whom you've only ever chatted with through keyboard and possibly Skype is worth it.

No! VR will never take the place of proper social media, it will become the TV of the virtual world, something you jack into to relieve the boredom in a visual way, the ultimate 3D TV in fact, total immersion, but that's another story altogether...

The voyagers

Darkness surrounds us
We huddle in space
An orb that protects us
All white with a face

We try to go up there
We see the great swathe
A glittering vista
A place we could graze

Two explorers are voyaging
About to leave home
Into the galaxy
So far from our home

The wonders they see
Will be nothing we know
By the time they are noticed
We may all be gone

Well here I am again....

Yes well, I have been a little quiet on the blogging side of things. Cancer gone, Chemo over and slowly getting back to normality.

What was that line again from Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy?
"four to one against and falling...three to one...two...one...probability factor of one to one...we have normality, I repeat we have normality. Anything you still can’t cope with is therefore your own problem."
I have in fact returned to full time work, that happened just before Christmas. I am now looking in other directions for a hobby, and if you happen to follow my twitterings you may have noticed some rantings about QuadCopters.

Yes indeed, I've gone so nuts and impatient over acquiring one of these that I've taken the steps of going down the route of building my own. I have even purchased all the bits I need to assemble one, though these parts are all coming from Hong Kong and will take a while.

You see I'm trying to get away from my hobby being the same as my work, so I'll be spending less time in front of computer screens.

My main aim eventually is to get the QuadCopter to take aerial photos and video, To start with though I'm not being overly ambitious, all I want to do is get a basic rig up and running, just straight Remote Controlled stable flight. Later on there will be GPS automated flight where it will become autonomous taking off and following a pre-programmed flight path before returning and landing automatically.

Anyway, enough for tonight, hopefully I'll start to blog again more often, and also start to create some verse again. I'm sure there are some out there that would like to see that again.
